Allium Restaurant overlooks one of the city’s widest promenades, North Parade. It was originally built to let the fashionable people of Regency Bath show off to the good and the great. Today, it’s still ideal for people-watching and lends itself beautifully to a sunny summer terrace for al fresco dining. Relaxed and unstuffy, the only thing Allium is serious about is great food, wonderful wines and genuinely warm hospitality. Our set menu is currently running at a special price, offering exceptional value for a taste of our signature style. The menu changes frequently to ensure the best use of local, seasonal produce to create interesting dishes.

Signature dishes by head chef Rupert Taylor, classics, light bites, great salads. The menu is a culinary road trip through some of the best loved restaurant dishes and so much more, all delivered with oodles of style (this menu can be found below).

Our menu always includes a selection of vegetarian dishes and we are very happy to cater for special dietary requirements; if possible please call ahead of your visit as with advance warning we can create something special.
Allium is a relaxed dining experience and we offer a warm welcome to younger guests too; half portions from our à la carte menu can be ordered and we also offer a full children’s menu.
Now that Spring is here, we’ve opened up our terrace for al fresco dining. Choose from small plates and large plates, plus monthly changing specials straight from head chef Rupert Taylor and his Allium kitchen dream team.
Seasonal Seafood Menu
Celebrate the end of the working week with award-winning English wines from small, dedicated West Country company, Lyme Bay Winery, matched with seasonal seafood from Allium head chef, Rupert Taylor. Available every Friday, 5-9pm, from 26th May on our terrace. Download the sample menu below.
There is no need to book for this event, so clink glasses after work with colleagues, share seafood plates and fizz with friends, or bring family and enjoy an al fresco evening to kick-start the weekend.
Sunday Lunch menu
Every Sunday Allium Restaurant is serving up a delicious lunch menu full of delicious seasonal starters such as pressed terrine of ham hock or salad of salt-baked beetroot followed by luxurious roast sirloin of Black Angus beef or pan fried fillet of salmon. For those with a bigger appetite puddings include warm ginger and vanilla rice pudding and warm chocolate brownie.
Enjoy two courses for £24 or three courses for £28.
Afternoon Tea menu
There is something rather glamorous and a little bit indulgent about afternoon tea, especially in the surroundings of ArtBar or Allium, or taken on the terrace in summer. Tiers of wonderful cakes, homemade scones and lip-licking jam and cream; simply add champagne.

At the Abbey Hotel we take breakfast just as seriously as dinner, local ingredients are cooked to order to create a bespoke option, your own “Full English” or maybe a soft white roll filled with “Gloucester Old Spot” and dripping with sauce.
The cooked options are always supported by a breakfast buffet, cereals, fruits, juices, smoothies and local yogurts, cold meats & cheeses. Breakfast just isn’t breakfast without toast, pastries and preserves.

Festive Dining Menus
Celebrate the festive season in style at Allium with great food, wines & party atmosphere, there is something for everyone. Office parties, festive lunch and dinner, DJ nights and our annual festive treat that is the live performance by Tenors Unlimited. Decadent and delicious it’s what Christmas is all about.
Even our youngest guests should dine in style. Our children’s menu is suitable for under 12’s and features a selection of best loved dishes to please even the fussiest appetite. Our chefs will always be happy to help if you need something more simple. Don’t hesitate to ask us.
Graduation Celebration Menu
The hard work is done and dusted, now is the time to celebrate! The Abbey Hotel is the perfect place to pop the cork and pour the bubbly, just a short stroll from the Abbey itself. In the summer months our terrace garden is a great place to gather with friends and family. Allium restaurant offers special celebratory menus, or an elegant afternoon tea, served in Allium, ArtBar or on the terrace, simply add champagne to make it an ever more special and memorable day.
