Allium Restaurant overlooks one of the city’s widest promenades, North Parade. It was originally built to let the fashionable people of Regency Bath show off to the good and the great. Today, it’s still ideal for people-watching and lends itself beautifully to a sunny summer terrace for al fresco dining. Relaxed and unstuffy, the only thing Allium is serious about is great food, wonderful wines and genuinely warm hospitality. One of the best loved restaurants in Bath, we just happen to be in a hotel too.

À la carte menu
Signature dishes by head chef Rupert Taylor, classics, light bites, great salads. The menu is a culinary road trip through some of the best loved restaurant dishes and so much more, all delivered with oodles of style (this menu can be found below).

Our menu always includes a selection of vegetarian dishes and we are very happy to cater for special dietary requirements; if possible please call ahead of your visit as with advance warning we can create something special.
Allium is a relaxed dining experience and we offer a warm welcome to younger guests too; half portions from our à la carte menu can be ordered and we also offer a full children’s menu.
All Day Lunch Menu
Our all day menu has something for everyone, whether you’re popping in for a snack with a drink, sharing a two-course special price set menu with friends or family or ordering tapas-style light bites aplenty, our lunch menu is full of smile-inducing platefuls that will keep you coming back for more!
Available 12noon-5.30pm daily in ArtBar, on our terrace and in Allium.
Our outdoor terrace is open from April to September complete with Mediterranean olive trees, vibrant wildflowers, comfy armchairs, heat lamps and flickering candles, all set against the backdrop of Georgian stone, not to mention a dedicated terrace menu full of tantalising sunshine-filled dishes straight from head chef Rupert Taylor and his Allium kitchen dream team.
Afternoon Tea menu
There is something rather glamorous and a little bit indulgent about afternoon tea, especially in the surroundings of ArtBar or Allium, or taken on the terrace in summer. Tiers of wonderful cakes, homemade scones and lip-licking jam and cream; simply add champagne.

At the Abbey Hotel we take breakfast just as seriously as dinner, local ingredients are cooked to order to create a bespoke option, your own “Full English” or maybe a soft white roll filled with “Gloucester Old Spot” and dripping with sauce.
The cooked options are always supported by a breakfast buffet, cereals, fruits, juices, smoothies and local yogurts, cold meats & cheeses. Breakfast just isn’t breakfast without toast, pastries and preserves.

Celebrate the festive season in style at Allium with fabulous food, perfectly-paired wines and a great party atmosphere, there is something for everyone. Office parties, festive lunches and dinners and DJ nights aplenty. Decadent dining, it’s what Christmas is all about.
Ambient, sparkling and uniquely designed, the Igloo is our purpose-built vaulted venue with seating, private booths and a dance-floor. Come Christmas time, this space transforms into a magical winter wonderland with a fantastic menu of delicious dishes, wonderful wines and a fabulous atmosphere.
